Places To Stay in Downtown Knoxville

Hilton Knoxville

Knoxville’s Hilton is on the slightly less-traveled Church Avenue, but the location puts it squarely within walking distance of central downtown and the attractions around World’s Fair Park.

Hilton Hotel in the Heart of Knoxville

If you’re visiting downtown Knoxville for reasons other than seeing the sights or attending a performance at the Tennessee or Bijou theaters, the Hilton Knoxville has over 13,000 square feet of event space ranging from a 6,000+ square foot ballroom to a 624 square foot boardroom. Guests staying in any of the hotel’s 320 rooms have access to a fitness center and outdoor rooftop swimming pool. The on-site restaurant and bar are Marble City Kitchen and The Firefly. Of course, there’s also a Starbucks in the lobby.

For Knoxville’s Attractions or Government Buildings

The Hilton Knoxville is two blocks from World’s Fair Park and three blocks west of Gay Street, so it’s convenient for visiting any of the attractions in those two parts of downtown. It’s also a good choice if you have business in any of the government buildings located just south of the hotel. The area between the hotel and the Tennessee River contains the Tennessee Supreme Court (one of three supreme court buildings in the state), the Howard Baker US Courthouse, and the headquarters of both Knox County and the city of Knoxville.

Within Walking Distance

The Hilton is a good option for easy access to the World’s Fair Park area (on the west side of downtown) and Gay Street (on the east side, where you’ll find the performing arts venues and lots of restaurants):

  • Knoxville Convention Center (0.2 miles)
  • World’s Fair Exhibition Hall (0.4 miles)
  • World’s Fair Park Performance Lawn (festival site, 0.5 miles)
  • Market Square (restaurants and shopping, 0.2 miles)
  • Tennessee Theatre (0.2 miles)
  • Bijou Theatre (0.3 miles)
